Super Monkey Ball producer Masao Shirosaki has been posting clips of Banana Mania gameplay on Twitter from the moment the game initially announced. He also shared a number of details about the game the trailers haven`t shown. Super Monkey Ball will have the ability to customize charactersthat is an Sega property.
In a brand new Tweet dedicated to showcasing the new photo mode Shirosaki shows off a Yakuza-themed Monkey Ball. Ai-Ai`s sitting in a Monkey Ball that has Yakuza Kiryu`s name emblazoned on the back of it. Ai-Ai also has an official Yakuza shirt to confirm that Yakuza representation is present in the game. Although it isn`t Kiryu in Monkey Ball form, it`s nonetheless nice to see. The tweet mentions that the items are exclusive to pre-order for GEOand Rakuten, while Rakuten is getting a Fantasy Zone styled t-shirt and ball. The items aren`t available globally.
Fan reactions to the inclusion have been positive over on Twitter, with many believing that it will open the doors to more things from the game, such as Majima, Saejima, and Ichiban`s tattoos. Others are hoping it leads to more Sega participation in the game. This isn`ttoo likely considering that the team has successfully gotten Yakuza included in the game of all things.
We also have a look into the photo mode through the game`s Twitter account. It appears to be an easy way to pause the action , but nothing else. Shirosaki`s Tweet included the following “I tried playing with customized components. The dragon is awesome!”
Yakuza isn`t the only Sega franchise that`s being depicted in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania. Sonic and Tails seem to be making appearances in the game as playable characters. pictures of the two characters appearing in Monkey Balls were found on the website of the game. Digital Deluxe also states that the game has customisation options for old Sega consolessuch as the Dreamcast.
